How to package Firefox as a Portable App [Linux]

How to package Firefox as a Portable App for Linux, with ORB Creator.

Download the tar.gz archive

Download Firefox from here: www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all

In this example we use the stable version, but you can use any other version, including Firefox Developer EditionFirefox Beta and Firefox nightly builds.

Extract the archive

In this example, we just extract the contents to the Desktop, but you can use any other location

Open ORB Creator and select “Package 1 folder”

Select the previously-extracted folder

In this example, the folder is in the Desktop

Select the main executable

The main executable is called “firefox”

Select the type of ORB

ORB_Creator_select_type_of_orb
Leave the type as “Portable App” and just click OK

Package now

ORB_Creator_final_menu
Click OK to begin the packaging process

Finished!

Once you see the final message, your Portable Firefox is now ready to use!

To run this App you can use ORB Launcher (recommended) or you can run it manually like any like executable.
